Aminé and KAYTRANADA have revealed their plans to team up for an upcoming collaborative project aptly named KAYTRAMINÉ.
Little information is available about the project's details, but an announcement on Tuesday (April 4) vaguely stated that it would be "coming soon" to streaming platforms.
A short teaser for the collaboration features an orange MIDI beat pad, which combines the names of the two gifted artists to create the project's distinctive title.
Social media users were thrilled to learn about the joint project, which will be Aminé's first album since 2021's TWOPOINTFIVE and KAYTRANADA's first since his Grammy-winning 2019 album, BUBBA.
One fan commented, "Oh, we about to eat," while another excitedly said, "This got me moaning in the library... can't wait for this project."
KAYTRANADA is well-versed in collaborative projects, having previously partnered with artists such as Robert Glasper, The Celestics, and IDK in 2022. The Haitian-Canadian producer has a long-standing relationship with the Portland native, dating back to when Aminé remixed KAY's "Not At All" in 2014. They teamed up again in 2015 for "La Danse."
The "Caroline" rapper also collaborated with Rejjie Snow on "Egyptian Luvr," produced by KAYTRANADA in 2018.
In a rare interview with Complex last year, Aminé expressed his desire for mentorship from prominent figures in the Hip Hop industry.
He explained, "I don’t really have too many artists I look to for advice, to be honest with you. I wish I did. I wish I had, like, a Drake or a J. Cole to tell me stuff, but I’m not that close with them." Aminé added that although he has met such artists and shared good vibes with them, no one has taken him under their wing.
He concluded by sharing his aspirations: "It would be a dream. It’d be sick if Kanye West was like, ‘Yeah, man. What’s up?’ I really want to meet JAY-Z. I don’t want the $500,000."
