Cam'ron has decided to appease fans by announcing the release of Killa Season 2, a follow-up to his 2006 cult classic film, in time for Christmas 2023.
The Harlem rapper shared the news via his Instagram Story, reposting a fan's message that included a memorable scene from the original film and a reminder of the anticipation for a sequel. Cam'ron confirmed the upcoming release, writing, "Fine I’ll do it. Ks2 this Christmas. You’re welcome!!!!!"
Killa Season, released in April 2006, chronicled the journey of a rapper hustling in Harlem, New York. Cam'ron starred as the protagonist Flea, with Juelz Santana, Hell Rell, Funkmaster Flex, and others in supporting roles. The film drew inspiration from Cam's transition from high school basketball stardom to a career in the drug trade, as well as the life of basketball phenom Karlton Hines.
The movie also served as a companion to Cam'ron's fifth studio album, which shared the same title and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, selling 114,000 copies in its first week.
In 2021, Cam'ron previewed new music for a potential Killa Season album sequel on Instagram. He shared a clip of himself listening to a track called "24 Year Run Hun" in his car while donning a bandana and sunglasses.
Other Dipset members have been exploring projects beyond music as well. Jim Jones recently mentioned considering the creation of a Dipset TV series that would explore the group's early days before achieving fame.
During a conversation with DJ Self, Jones said, "I think I’ma do that ‘cause the stuff that went on in 5H before we became the players we were, you need to see." He added, "We were reckless. Young, dumb, and stupid, but we were having a ball."
