RECAP: CHRIS BROWN BRINGS HIS "11:11" TOUR TO VANCOUVER

On July 27, 2024, Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, became the latest stop on R&B superstar Chris Brown’s “11:11” Tour. As the 21st destination of the 26-city tour, this concert was nothing short of spectacular, featuring over 40 songs spanning Brown’s entire discography and lasting just over two hours.

Fans packed the arena, eagerly awaiting the show. A massive LED screen behind the stage counted down to zero, and Chris Brown emerged on a platform, a single beam of light highlighting him amid a group of ominous, masked figures with glowing red eyes. The platform lowered, and with a burst of fire and sparks, “Angel Numbers / Ten Toes” began, officially kicking off the night.

The set was creatively divided into four acts: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Each act featured mesmerizing visuals on the screen behind the stage, immersing the crowd in Brown’s world. During intermissions, DJ Fresh kept the energy high with a mix of party classics and some of Brown’s hits not on the setlist.

The night started with an intense, fiery act featuring tracks like “Heat,” “Go Girlfriend,” and “Summer Too Hot,” complete with blazing stage effects. The energy was palpable as Brown interacted with the crowd, asking, “Vancouver, how y’all doing so far?”.

The pace slowed with the Water act, beginning with “Bruce Lee” from Brown’s latest album. Fans were thrilled to see Brown hoisted into the air on a harness, along with three dancers, moving to a smaller, rotating platform for an intimate performance of “Only.” Brown’s aerial dance moves drew cheers as he returned to the main stage to close the act.

“How my ladies feeling so far? You good?” Brown asked as he returned to the stage. He then performed “Back to Sleep” and “Very Special,” before switching to a hand-held mic for “No Air.” The crowd erupted, singing along and closing out Act 3 with enthusiastic participation.

The final act began with Brown inside a clear glass box, later joined by his dancers in their own glass boxes. “Natural Disaster” kicked off this segment, accompanied by chaotic visuals of war and turmoil on the screen. Tracks like “Call Me Everyday” and “Sensational” followed, leading up to the 2019 hit “No Guidance.”

For the encore, a “Wheel of Fortune” style game decided the last three songs: “Poppin’,” “Deuces,” and “Say Goodbye,” much to the crowd’s delight. The night concluded with “Grass Ain’t Greener,” where Brown expressed his gratitude to the fans and the city. “This is what matters most to me,” he said, thanking everyone for their support.

Presented by Live Nation, Chris Brown’s “11:11” Tour is a 26-city extravaganza celebrating his 11th studio album. The tour kicked off on June 5 in Detroit and will conclude on August 6 in Los Angeles. Brown’s latest album, “11:11,” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart, with the single “Summer Too Hot” earning a GRAMMY nomination.

Christopher Maurice Brown is a multifaceted artist known for his influence in R&B, often hailed as the “King of R&B.” His music blends R&B with pop and hip hop, and he is renowned for his emotional and hedonistic themes, dynamic stage presence, and comparisons to Michael Jackson.
